What is Ashoka?

What is Ashoka?

Ashoka is the largest association of social entrepreneurs in the world. Since its founding in 1981, Ashoka has provided financing, capacity building services, and valuable connections to “Ashoka Fellows”-- entrepreneurs with demonstrated success and commitment to social change. Like business entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs are leaders with creative solutions, but they focus their talent and energy on social problems in health, economic development, education, human rights, and many other areas. In addition to supporting our network of over 3000 Ashoka Fellows, Ashoka is building a world where all people can enact the change they envision for their societies.

Bill Drayton, Founder

" Social entrepreneurs are not content just to give a fish or teach how to fish. They will not rest until they have revolutionized the fishing industry. "
